Drive up Whiteface, float down Ausable Chasm, go to Great Escape….these are all fun things to do with your family or any group.  Go on a tour of a great camp with the Adirondack Architectural Heritage (AARCH)  which runs all sorts of historic and cultural tours in the region during the summer

Remember to look up while here! Our valley is beautifully dark and a great place to view the heavens. The town is a haven for several amateur astronomers who invite visitors to share telescopic views by announcing observing sessions on our town’s NextDoor social network
The only requirement is some patience, perhaps a tripod-mounted camera and binoculars. A 30 second camera exposure will pull out amazing detail of the night sky, free of interference from city lights. The Andromeda galaxy is a naked-eye object here once your eyes are fully night-adapted. Find a dark field on a clear, moonless night and enjoy.

Great Escape and Splashwater Kingdom in a classic theme park in Lake George, part of the Great Escape / Six Flags chain, and it now has a large indoor water complex.

Santa’s Workshop in Wilmington is a classic old fashioned roadside attraction but it is only suitable for young children.

Adirondack Extreme Adventure Course in Bolton Landing on Lake George.  There is another zip line and paint ball at Hudson Whitewater Challengers.  The newest big zip line is the Adirondack Eagle Flyer near Lake George.
