The APA was created in 1971 and it brought a strict set of rules and regulations for construction in the Adk Park. The park has never been the same since. Density was the first big rule, marking out large areas where you need 44 acres for a house.
The Adirondack Park Agency is probably the key State agency in our area. They have an excellent web site that answers a lot of questions. Their public meetings are webcast live and available in a very well indexed archive. You don’t need to watch a whole meeting, just the part about the topic you are interested in.
